A rounded triangle of tempered glass. Three wooden legs beneath it. Nothing else.
Morning light in a Montreal loft. The glass stays clear, so the rug runs straight through it. The walnut frame does the talking.
A rounded triangle of tempered glass. Three wooden legs beneath it. Nothing else.
The glass rests on three small steel discs, so it sits just above the frame. Look down through it and you can see how the table is built.
The frame is solid wood in a walnut stain, with a straight, even grain.
From the front, two legs splay out and the third stands behind them. Under the glass, three flat rails form a pinwheel, each one tied into the next.

Move the slider to see the drawing beside the finished table.
Three legs, three rails and a rounded glass top. That is the whole plan.
The glass sits on three small discs. It floats just clear of the wood.
Each leg widens in a curve where it meets the rail.
The base is solid wood with a straight, even grain under a walnut stain.
The top is tempered glass, made to be stronger than ordinary glass and more resistant to breaking. Its corners are generously rounded.

Three legs do not rock. Not even on an old floor.
Three brushed-steel discs carry the glass. Each sits on a rail, where the next rail meets it.
The rails run into the tops of the legs with a fine joint line.
Each leg is square in section with softened edges. It widens in a soft curve where it meets the rail.
The rails are bolted. Two small black bolt heads show on the rail beside the leg.
Green-grey panelling, a tan leather chair and a brass lamp. The glass catches the light.
A white slipcovered chair and the hills across the water. The glass keeps the view open.
A side table holds the small things: a cup, a glass, the remote. The 23-inch glass top takes all three.
Glass keeps a small room open. You see the rug and the floor, not another block of wood.
Measure your sofa arm. Vipiteno stands 22 inches high.
