Varenna is covered all over in white boucle, a nubby fabric made of small loops. The headboard is split once, down the middle. At each end a deep wing stands forward and curves over at the top.
Underneath, a solid rubberwood base sits back from the fabric. From across the room, the bed seems to float.
Two plain panels side by side, 27 inches above the rails. A wing closes each end and stands on its own round wood foot. The surround runs along both sides and the foot at one low, even height.

One seam down the centre splits the headboard into two plain halves.

Boucle is woven with small loops, so the surface has a texture you can see and feel. Foam and polyester padding sit underneath.
The base is solid rubberwood in a natural finish. The grain varies a little from board to board. That is the wood, not a flaw.
