At home

Reeds under marble.

A ranch house in Turner Valley, in the Alberta foothills. A charcoal limewash wall and tall glass to the foothills and the Rockies.

The Staffolo story

A box of reeds on two slabs.

A long, plain box. Four doors. A thin marble top.

Every door is covered in fine, rounded reeds of mango wood, running from top to bottom. There are no handles, so the reeds run across the whole front without a break.

The case stands on two slab legs of mango wood, set in from the ends. Each end of the case is a panel of wide mango boards.

The materials

Mango wood and white marble.

Staffolo is made of marble, mango wood and plywood.

The Natural finish is a pale honey beige. Each piece has its own mango grain, so no two sideboards look quite the same. The marble top is white with soft grey veins.

Reeded doors

Fine, rounded reeds of mango wood cover all four doors.

White marble top

A thin slab with soft grey veins and square edges.

Natural finish

A pale honey beige that lets the mango grain show.

The base

Two slabs, set in.

From the end, the case is a panel of wide mango boards with a straight grain.

Under it, a slab leg runs from front to back. There is one near each end, set in, so the ends of the case float.
