Lift the seat and the box is open. Inside it measures 45 by 12.2 inches and 8.66 inches deep. Blankets, shoes, the things that pile up at the foot of a bed.

Half-round reeds run across the front and both ends. The four corners are plain and rounded, so the reeds stop at a soft edge. The back is a flat panel.

Rubberwood takes stain unevenly in places. Expect a few darker spots and streaks in the grain. That is the wood, not a flaw.

The seat is rated to 300 pounds. The padding sits on a plywood base.
Two safety stays hold the lid open and let it down slowly. Tools and a manual come in the box.
The seat is a 2-inch pad wrapped in an ivory linen-look weave, with softly rounded edges. It rests on a thin walnut rim.
Below it, the reeds run straight down to the plinth.
Each leg is turned with a ring, a bulb and a tapered foot. They stand 6.7 inches tall and lift the box clear of the floor.
