The top is a patchwork of oak veneer pieces. Most are rectangles, a few are cut on a long angle, and the grain turns from piece to piece.
An oak frame with mitred corners holds the patchwork. Each leg runs up through a notch in the frame, so its end grain shows in the top.
Eighty-six inches long and thirty-nine deep, on four flat legs set in from the ends. No bar runs down the length, so the space between the legs stays open.
