Before the screen comes on.
Morning light crosses the pine floor. The ivory sofa curves towards the room. Above Livia, the television is still dark.
There is something pleasant about this hour: a lamp left where you like it, books stacked beside a leafy branch, the things for later put away.
In Natural, Livia sits lightly against the white wall. Its rounded ends echo the sofa, while the vertical reeds bring a smaller rhythm beneath the plaster mouldings.
The open shelf keeps a few things close. The drawer and sliding doors give the rest a place.
For now, the daylight is enough.
