A round back. Wide channels. One deep seat. A full turn.
Soft morning light and tall cedars. Pale oak, a cream rug, a cup on the side table. Cuneo turns to the view, then back to the room.
A round back. Wide channels. One deep seat. A full turn.
Cuneo is a tub chair. The back curves round and becomes the arms, so you sit inside one soft shape. Wide channels run from the top edge to the floor, inside and out.
It sits on a low black iron base and swivels 360 degrees. Turn to the window, the fire or the conversation.
Dark Brown is a soft taupe brown. Olive Green and Caramel bring colour to a quiet room.
Wide channels wrap the back and both arms in one line. Each arm ends in a flat, rounded face. One stitched seam marks the front of the seat. That is all the detail it needs.
SketchFinished
Move the slider to see the drawing beside the finished chair.
Back and arms are a single shape. Seen from above, the chair is a horseshoe.
The channels carry on round the outside, so the chair can stand in the middle of a room.
A low black iron ring under the seat lets Cuneo swivel 360 degrees.
The cover is a smooth, short-pile velvet. Light runs along each channel, so the colour shifts as the chair turns.
Dark Brown, Olive Green and Caramel, each shown here on the same arm. The base is black iron.
A short, soft pile over the back, arms and seat. Matte, with a gentle sheen on the curves.
A low black iron swivel base, set in under the chair. Only a thin ring shows.
It arrives ready to use. Unbox it and sit down.
Up close, the pile is smooth and even. Light runs along each channel and settles in the seams.
One top-stitched seam runs across the front of the seat. The arms wrap around it.
Each arm is the end of the shell. A rolled seam frames its flat front face.
The arms sit 21 inches off the floor, three and a half inches above the seat.
Panelled walls, a brass reading lamp and a candle on a walnut table. The velvet softens in the low light.
Whitewashed brick, steel windows and old maple floors. A soft shape against hard edges.
Cuneo is 37.25 inches wide and 26.5 inches high. Low enough to sit in front of a window without blocking the view.
Use one as a reading chair. Use two, facing each other, and turn them toward the conversation. Dark Brown pairs with walnut and linen; Olive Green and Caramel lift a neutral room.
Leave about 18 inches in front of the seat, and a few inches behind the back so it can turn freely. Check doorways and stairs against the box size.
A channelled velvet shell, one deep seat and a black iron swivel base.
